This bull has already been ridden. They have roped its head, and are trying to rope the feet so they can lie it down to remove the belly ropes. When the bull first enters the arena, it is roped head and rear feet, dropped down, and the belly ropes are attached to assist with riding. Then a rider gets on, the bull gets up and rears wildly around, the rider gets off (this is often an exciting moment!), and finally they bring the bull down to remove the ropes. All this requires remarkable skill and teamwork on the part of the cowboys and their horses! |
