There were these hand hewn feed troughs all over the farms. There were a few feed troughs made of cement too, but they told me the cement was expensive, and farmers could make these in their spare time during the dry season, simply by dragging a log out of the mountains and chopping it out with an adze. Another old tradition preserved because of economic reasons. They can't afford to modernize because they have more time than money, which is not always a bad thing.
