| Cuitzeo boasts a 500 year old monastery, attached to one of the churches on the plaza. The monastery is sort of a museum, though without the usual rules about touching stuff and walking in old places. We finally got around to visiting early in April. There is room after cool, peaceful room, with little open spaces, ancient wells, and little stone monk cells leading through tiny wooden doors to more peace. Truly a sacred space. |
